I miss Elastica! :( [Jan. 20th, 2009|08:36 am]
:: the elastica connection ::

Thanks for trying to restart this community edienoir. I don't know if this was ever posted here, but I'll put it up anyways since there's not much news about Elastica anymore. It's an interview with Donna from 2006 about her becoming a Christian: http://www.ichthus.org.uk/Publisher/Article.aspx?id=57178

Solid Gold... [Sep. 30th, 2005|11:23 pm]

[music |The Glove- Blue Sunshine]

I was browsing around Buyback Entertainment, which is one of those Corporate chain used music/DVD stores that have been popping up like locusts around my city, when, in a glass case... I saw a copy of Elastica's self-titled release, still in shrinkwrap with the security sticker on it...

The pricetag? 40.00!!!!

Good lord! Who knew that its become such a collector's item?!?!?

either that, or that store is just way way WAY too overpriced for its own good....

Hi Everybody! [Jun. 11th, 2005|12:31 pm]

[music |The Menace]

My name is Tracy. I'm new here. I've been an Elastica for about ten years now and I still think they are one of the best bands EVER!

Anyways, a review of the new Sleater-Kinney album(one of my other favorite bands) briefly mentions Elastica:

"Turning their crosshairs away from the overt political issues of One Beat, Sleater-Kinney's amplification here sounds like a reaction to the current wave of backwards-looking boys-club bands that idolize post-punk dramatists like Joy Division and the Cure and abstractors like Gang of Four and Wire. (And anyway, weren't the women of Elastica working this same nostalgia, like, 10 years ago?)"

Any comments?

Look Who's Been Added to Rotten's People Database... [May. 15th, 2005|09:01 am]
:: the elastica connection ::

[music |Ministry- World]

Criticized for repeatedly ripping off other bands, blatantly stealing the riff from Wire's "Three Girl Rhumba" for the Elastica song "Connection", and to a lesser extent Wire's "I Am The Fly" on the single "Line Up", as well as imitating The Stranglers' song "No More Heroes" on the single "Waking Up". Elastica settled out of court with the publishers of both bands in March, 1995

[music |cocaine is crack- Blondie...was black!]

my name's mister foxx.
have always love elastica since the early nineties.
My fave songs are: See That Animal, Nothing Stays the Same (Donna's Home Demo Version), Operate, Line Up, Never Here, Brighton Rock, Spastica, Ba Ba Ba, I Want To Be A King Of Orient Ah.
I also really really like the song Justine did with Pavement called Surburbia.
She also recently sung on a track on the Pleasure album by Pleasure.
I met Donna recently, she's in a new fairly experimental band called Klang. http://www.klangers.net ( i think).

hope you're all well.

My little intro. [Nov. 23rd, 2004|03:41 am]
:: the elastica connection ::

I'm Heather. I love elastica...I think it's growing to the level of obsession.

And now to the point:: Does anyone know where I can either get an elastica shirt with the logo from their s/t CD on it or where I can find a good picture of said logo?

And what kind of vinyl releases are floating around? are there elastica bootlegs?

Hello all [Nov. 14th, 2004|03:37 pm]
:: the elastica connection ::

Just thought I would continue the rare but rabid fan sign-in.
I am a huge fan of Elastica's music, and a lover of Justine's image...

I read an article about two years ago where Justine said she would never sing or front a band again. So sad...
